MARYLAND ASCD JUDITH RUCHKIN RESEARCH AWARDS

2011-2012

 

Members of the Research Committee of the Maryland Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development take pleasure in announcing that applications for the 2011-2012 Maryland ASCD Judith Ruchkin Research Awards are now being accepted. The Committee invites not only graduate students in education, but also educators at all levels to participate. Research must have been conducted since January 2009.  Quantitative and qualitative research studies are considered in any of the following categories:

q  Action Research

q  Master’s Theses

q  Doctoral Dissertations

q  University Faculty Research

q  Educational Agency or Local School System Research

q  Seminar Papers

 

TO BE ELIGIBLE, SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING BY MAY 13, 2011:

q  A research abstract of not more than 600 words

q  A copy of the research study [to be returned to the researcher following selection]

q  A letter of endorsement from the research advisor, supervisor, or other appropriate person attesting to the research efforts  

q  Contact information, including phone number, address, and email address

 

Evaluations of the research entries will be based on:

q  Quality of the research design and appropriateness to the research problem or question

q  Quality of the scholarly writing, including clarity of presentation of the purpose, findings, and conclusions

q  Significance and/or implications of the findings for the improvement of educational practices
